Annapolis Pointing Dog Co.
Where Training Meets Tradition

Annapolis Pointing Dog Company was built around a simple idea: do the work correctly, in the right places, and let results speak for themselves.

What began as a focus on pointing breeds and upland bird work has grown into a broader professional offering; dog training and guided hunting rooted in structure, experience, and respect for the outdoors.

This is not a volume-based operation. It is steady, personal, and intentional.

About Ira Strouse

Ira Strouse is a veteran, licensed guide, and professional dog trainer with a deep respect for traditional upland hunting.

He holds:

  • Registered Maine Hunting Guide credentials

  • New York State Guide licensing

  • A German Jagdschein

  • Apprenticeship experience under respected bird dog professionals

Over the years, Ira has worked in wild country, trained dogs across different stages of development, and guided hunters through terrain that demands preparation and awareness.

He does not compete for ribbons. He trains and hunts for the right reasons, because the work matters.

Dogs are pets 365 days a year. In season, they become partners in the field.
