Annapolis Pointing Dog Co.
Where Training Meets Tradition

At Annapolis Pointing Dog Co., we do more than train bird dogs—we build lifelong hunting companions through a dedicated, season long training experience. Specializing in English Setters and English Pointers, but with a love for all breeds, we provide a full-service approach that goes beyond obedience, preparing each dog for both the home and the hunt.

Our program is designed to accomodate people with any level of upland experience who want a proven polished bird dog without the guesswork. From foundational obedience and fieldwork to real-world hunting expeditions, our training ensures your dog is not only skilled but also well-conditioned for success in the field.

Beyond the training, APDC is driven by a deeper purpose - we try to elevate people within our community with a soft spot in our hearts for those starting out, those starting over, military families, and Veterans. We provide opportunities to work alongside us and hone your skills as we document the season's journey.

At APDC, elite training meets purpose, and every hunt tells a story.

The Annapolis Pointing Do Co. Approach

At Annapolis Pointing Dog Company, training isn’t a checklist — it’s a journey. Our approach is built on time, trust, and real-world experience. We believe in developing well-rounded dogs through consistent structure, meaningful exposure, and handler involvement every step of the way. From the living room to the uplands, our process ensures that both dog and owner grow together, creating a team that’s confident, capable, and field-ready for seasons to come.

1. Build the Foundation

We start with structured obedience and in-home behavior training, tailored to your dog’s personality and your lifestyle. From crate conditioning to food decisions and early bird exposure, we lay the groundwork for a balanced and confident dog.

2. Develop in the Field

Dogs are introduced to real hunting environments, focusing on wild game birds like grouse and woodcock. Through conditioning runs, handling drills, and bird manners, each dog gains the instincts and discipline needed to perform under pressure.

3. Prepare the Team

We don’t just train the dog—we train you, the handler. From shotgunning instruction to guided hunts and travel prep, you’ll learn how to work as a team with your dog in the field. Our mentorship ensures you're ready for the hunt, not just your dog.
